Burn, Baby, Burn!!!

Have a look at this gem we were given as a resource. What do you notice? So many things to say, we thought we would let it speak for itself.












Decimals move? That’s a bit confusing…


Really? At least two sides of an isosceles triangle are the same length?





I was unaware that angles, lines, rays, and segments were part of the 5th grade curriculum…hmmm…






There are so many things that we noticed. We would love to hear what you think!

  1. This could open the door for some amazing conversations and professional learning within our buildings. Our classrooms become overwhelmed with glossy print, color and simple gimmicks for teaching but we need to ensure that we remain wise consumers of resources.

    Would my colleagues feel the same way you do? As much as I wish they had the critical eye you have, many don’t. Sure enough, resources like this make us throw up in our mouth but the question I struggle with everyday is how to empower teachers to be gatekeepers for such resources. It’s definitely an uphill battle.

    Keep fighting the good fight. All of us are smarter than one of us!
